Hi, I'm Jon

I live in Brimfield and run Big Jon Stump Grinding myself. There's no office and no crew. When you call or text, you get me, and when the grinder pulls into your driveway, I'm the one running it.

A stump is one of those jobs that sits in the yard for years, in the way of the mower, the garden or the patio. Whether you've got one stump or twenty, I'll come out and grind them.

The machine

I run a Vermeer SC362 stump grinder. It's a 35-horsepower machine that fits through a 36-inch gate, so I can get into most fenced backyards without taking down a fence section. It handles everything from small ornamentals to big New England oaks and maples.

How I work

• I call Dig Safe before I grind, so buried lines are marked.
• I give you a firm price before I start.
• I use a chip curtain to keep debris away from houses, cars and windows.
• I rake and level the chips into the hole and blow the walks and driveway clean before I leave.

I'm not a big crew with a long wait list. I'm a local guy who answers his phone, shows up when he says he will, and leaves your yard clean.
